Music Ministry Retreat | January 21-23, 2010

I’m very excited to announce next year’s Music Ministry Retreat sponsored by Religious Affections Ministries and hosted by Camp Joy in Whitewater, WI.

The Music Ministry Retreat is designed to be a time of refreshment, encouragement, and equipping for pastors, church music directors, and laymen involved in the church music ministry.

This is a perfect retreat for a church choir to attend together!

Children are Welcome!
You are welcome to bring your children to this retreat. We will be providing special services, activities, and music classes.

This year, we are offering two registration options:

OPTION 1:

Specifically designed to meet the needs of pastors and music directors.

Thursday evening – Saturday afternoon

Single Charge
Standard: $110 per person
Deluxe: $125 per person (minimum 3)
Driftwood Village: $150 per person (minimum 3)
Motel: $90 (plus motel cost)

Couple
Standard: $200 per couple
Deluxe: $275 per couple
Driftwood Village: $300 per couple
Motel: $180 (plus motel cost)

Children (additional cost)
0-3: free
4-12: $35 each
13-adult: $45 each

OPTION 2:

Specifically designed to meet the needs of lay musicians, choir members, church accompanists, and students.

Friday evening – Saturday afternoon

*Bring 5 or more people from your church and receive $10 off each person!

Single Charge
Standard: $80 per person
Deluxe: $95 per person (minimum 3)
Driftwood Village: $120 per person (minimum 3)
Motel: $60 (plus motel cost)

Couple
Standard: $100 per couple
Deluxe: $125 per couple
Driftwood Village: $200 per couple
Motel: $120 (plus motel cost)

4-12: $35 each

Thursday evening through Friday afternoon will be focused primarily on music philosophy, service organization and leading, choral conducting, and pastoral issues.

Friday evening through Saturday afternoon will be focused primarily on practical ministry issues, choral workshops, accompanist workshops, and more.

SPEAKERS:

We have an exciting line-up of speakers this  year.

Chuck Phelps is the president of
Maranatha Baptist Bible College.
He served as youth pastor for four
years in Minnesota and Colorado
before becoming the pastor at Trinity
Baptist Church in 1989, where he
served until coming to Maranatha
in 2008.

Dean Kurtz is the author of God’s Word,
The Final Word on Worship and Music, and
is on the pastoral staff of Calvary Baptist
Church in Watertown, WI. He teaches
frequently on music and worship.

David Rasbach directs the academy
choirs at Bob Jones University Academy.
He is well known for his excellent music
and choral skills. He will be instructing

on choral techniques during this retreat.

Scott Aniol is the executive director of
Religious Affections Ministries, providing
resources to help churches think biblically
about worship and music. He speaks
regularly on the subjects of music and worship.

Steve Allen is the music pastor at First
Baptist Church in Troy, MI. Pastor Allen
has served in the ministry of music for
over twenty years and has a national
reputation for an excellent, conservative
church music program.

Arrival/Departure:

Package One: Check-in is from 3-6 p.m. on Thursday, with supper at 6:00 p.m. and the first service at 7:30 p.m. The retreat ends at 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Package Two: Check-in is from 3-6 p.m. on Friday, with supper at
6:00 p.m. and the first service at 7:30 p.m. The retreat ends at 3 p.m. on
Saturday.

Deadlines:

We must have a good number registered for this retreat by September 1, 2009! Please register early, and promote this retreat to your choir and other church musicians.

Remember, all churches bringing 10 or more people receive $10 off each registration!
